Peptides International names technical executive

Peptides International Inc. has hired Dr. Michael Pennington as chief technical officer, effective Wednesday, according to a news release.

He will be responsible for research, production and quality control.

The company said the hiring is in conjunction with its increased focus on partnering with biotech and pharmaceutical companies seeking to develop new products for therapeutic applications.

Pennington has spent more than 20 years in research and development management with the Bachem Group and most recently was president and COO of the company’s King of Prussia, Pa.-based operation, Bachem Bioscience Inc. He also has written nearly 100 technical publications.

Louisville-based Peptides makes and distributes biologically active peptides, enzyme substrates and inhibitors and other products that are used for medical research and drug discovery.
